De Angeli (owner of The Planet, an Ann Arbor Store carrying bella Des products) explained that their products “help the world in more ways than through politics. Buying ethical products has a positive effect on the world.” A discussion ensued as I was testing a hand cream by bella Des, a locally produced line of aromatherapy oils and lotions. Buying locally produced products helps the environment more than we frequently realize, de Angeli said.

Bella Des products, a locally produced line of aromatherapy oils and lotions, are placed on the same display as Burt’s Bees items, and De Angeli reflected that “You still have to pay for gas to ship Burt’s Bees, whereas this (bella Des) is made right here.”
